It was time to say farewell to Baku after 4 nights. At our hotel breakfast did not start until 9 and as keen as we were to head off early, we were also keen to eat brekky before we left.
So we got up and had everything prepared ready to go, had a quick breakfast, hailed an Uber and we were in our way to the bus station.
Our Uber driver was slightly manic but we arrived in one piece ready to catch the bus.
Finding the bus proved a little more difficult than in Iran, but overall it was not hard and we had our seats on the 11am bus.
The bus was by no means as luxurious as the buses in Iran, it was actually quite tight! It was also bloody hot, man, they don't really have any idea about temperatures here! I'm not sure I mentioned this but when I was running in Baku I was wearing shorts and a singlet, but the locals were kitted out in matchy matchy parachute tracksuits for their running!! And in our hotel we had the air con on in our room but the actual hotel had heaters on!
Anyway, I digress! The bus took off at 11, we made a pit stop at about 1:30 and after a few bumpy roads we got into Sheki at 4:15pm, ahead of the the time we thought, so not too bad!
We found our hotel easily enough despite a wrong location on google maps, and we checked in.
Man, it's massive, it's like a full apartment, all for $77 a night, not bad! There is a great view and 3 verandas!
We are only here 2 nights but it will be nice to have some space! Although Baku is as quite spacious as well!
