Persepolis

We arranged for a driver through our hotel to take us out to Persepolis which is about an hour out of Shiraz.

There is not a lot of easy public transport to get out there so a driver was the best option and at $37 it was pretty reasonably priced!

The driver met us at 9am after we had our breakfast and we headed off on the highway. The roads were not too busy and it was quite pleasant.

Persepolis is an ancient civilization dating back to 520bc. It's not in the best shape but had some pretty good carvings that were in good repair and also some interesting tombs carved into the rock face.

We had 2 hrs to look around which was plenty to see all the sights. It was not too hot so walking around was pleasant.
