The day started with another huge breakfast at our hotel. The hosts at the hotel have been simply lovely and despite the language barrier I am confident they knew how much we enjoyed our stay.
We walked to the mini bus station where we were greeted by the driver who must really know women as he automatically assumed I'd need the toilet and pointed me in the direction of the loo! He was correct of course!
Literally within 5 minutes of arriving at the station our mini bus was ready to go. It did not take the route we expected and instead went around the mountains resulting in a trip that took around 3 hours instead of just under 2. It was a bit of a scary journey but we arrived in one piece at a station not exactly where we expected it to be.
We got off the bus quite quickly and felt a bit flustered as we had assumed the station was only about 1km from our hotel. We proceeded to look for a taxi only to soon realise we were missing our camera bag!
In the confusion of getting off the bus we must have left it behind! Panic hit as we felt it was gone for good.
We soon came to the realisation that the bus would be at the station waiting to head back to Telavi, Pete dashed across the road madly looking for the bus and thankfully managed to find the driver who was standing by the bus pointing at the bag. To say we felt like someone was watching over us was an understatement!! Thank god we found that bag, not that it had money or anything in it, but it had the camera and all our photos from the trip!
We made our way to the hotel, did some washing and then went to the train station to book our train to Batumi and our train to Yerevan for later in the trip.
Tbilisi is hectic, very busy and also it was raining! We found a bar/cafe where we enjoyed some beers and then some dinner before calling it a night back at our apartment.
Such a crazy day but feeling grateful that we found the camera bag and learning a lesson for the future!
We made a donation to a charity online this evening as we felt good karma deserved to be reconised!
